The 5270G-001 was the first in-house perpetual calendar chronograph. This dial configuration does not feature a tachymeter scale and the radial date at 6 o’clock sits within the railroad-style markers. Later generations of this model, like the 5270G-018, feature a tachymeter scale and a radial date that slightly depresses the scale at 6 o’clock. Collectors and connoisseurs often refer to this as ‘no-chin’ vs ‘chin’ references.

Rounding out this list, but by no means the extensive catalog of Patek Philippe men’s watches, is the reference 5212A-001. This stainless steel complicated watch hit the watch world hard. To start, it is a stainless steel complicated timepiece that isn’t a sports model. Secondly, this model features the unique complication of a weekly calendar. Starting at the ring in the center of the dial, you’ll find the day of the week and the date sits at 3 o’clock, as seen on many models. Continuing outward past the hours and minutes, is the first chapter ring featuring the weeks numbered 1 – 53. Along the outer ring of the dial is the month aligning with the proper week number.
