Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Complications Ref. 5960

Announced on January 26, 2006, the Patek Philippe ref. 5960 debuted as the manufacture's first self-winding chronograph developed and produced entirely in-house, paired with its annual calendar. Its 40.5 mm case houses calibre CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H, combining a column-wheel flyback chronograph and modern disk clutch with calendar apertures across the dial, a power-reserve display, and day/night indication. The clutch permits the central chronograph hand to run continuously as a seconds hand without the bounce associated with conventional engagement systems. At 6 o'clock, an oversized monocounter combines elapsed minutes and hours, including a 12-hour counter that Phillips identifies as a first for a serially produced Patek Philippe wristwatch. The reference ran from 2006 through 2021, but its executions are materially different watches. Early 5960P models paired platinum cases with gray, blue soleil, or black dials, while the 5960R series used rose gold. In 2014, the 5960/1A brought stainless steel and a five-row drop-link bracelet to the line, followed by the final standard-production 5960/01G-001 in white gold. Short-lived versions include the one-year 5960P-016 and black-dial steel 5960/1A-010, while the 5960G-010 was a 100-piece Moscow boutique edition.
