2006 was the year Patek Philippe added a chronograph to the Nautilus for the first time. The 5980's 40.5mm case, available in stainless steel, 18k rose gold, and two-tone steel with rose gold, carries the in-house caliber CH 28-520 C: a self-winding flyback chronograph with a 12-hour monocounter at 6 o'clock, 327 components, and up to 55 hours of power reserve. The steel variant was discontinued around 2016-2017, making authenticated examples in any metal progressively harder to find, and each 5980 available at The 1916 Company is fully authenticated and backed by our 2-year warranty.
