Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5980

Introduced at Baselworld in 2006 for the Nautilus 30th anniversary, ref. 5980 was the first Nautilus chronograph. It also brought Patek Philippe's entirely in-house CH 28-520 C self-winding flyback chronograph calibre to the collection. Its low-friction vertical disc clutch allows the central chronograph hand to run continuously as a sweep-seconds hand, while the bull's-eye monocounter at 6 o'clock combines elapsed minutes and hours on concentric scales. The date remains clearly framed at 3 o'clock. The original steel 5980 arrived with a blue dial, followed by black or charcoal-gray versions and the rare white-dial 5980/1A-019. Patek Philippe added the leather-strap 5980R in 2010, then full rose-gold bracelet and two-tone configurations in 2013. In 2014, the manufacture stated that the steel-bracelet 5980/1A had been replaced in its catalog by ref. 5990/1A. White gold returned the design in 2024 as the 5980/60G-001, with a blue-gray opaline dial, a slightly larger dial opening, and patterned straps. The family is now discontinued. Every example available through The 1916 Company is authenticated and backed by our 2-year warranty.
