Introduced at Baselworld in 2018, the Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5740/1G-001 brought both the first perpetual calendar and the first Grand Complication to the Nautilus collection. It remains in production, pairing a 40 mm 18k white-gold case and integrated bracelet with a profile just 8.42 mm thick. At launch, it was the thinnest perpetual calendar Patek Philippe had produced. The sunburst blue dial uses the color associated with the Nautilus models released for the collection's 40th anniversary in 2016. Day and 24-hour indications appear at 9 o'clock, month and leap-year cycle at 3 o'clock, and a larger date display with moon phases at 6 o'clock. Patek Philippe specifies that the moon-phase display deviates from the actual lunar position by one day every 122 years. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the self-winding Calibre 240 Q is 3.88 mm thick and uses a 22k-gold off-center minirotor, Gyromax balance, and Spiromax balance spring. Its 275 components provide a perpetual calendar and a 38-to-48-hour power reserve within the slim case. The integrated bracelet alternates polished central links with satin-finished lateral links and uses the patented fold-over clasp introduced with this reference.
