The 5970 holds a singular place in the lineage: it is the last reference whose caliber was not entirely manufactured by Patek Philippe, powered by the CH 27-70 Q developed on a Nouvelle Lemania 2310 base and profoundly reworked with Patek's perpetual calendar architecture. The platinum variant was exclusively available from 2009 to 2010, making it the second rarest of the four metals; it is also the only standard-production 5970 with a black dial, and total output is estimated at between 300 and 500 examples.
