Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Grand Complications Ref. 5520P
The Patek Philippe Grand Complications Ref. 5520P-001 Alarm Travel Time pairs a 42.2 mm platinum case with an ebony black dial and the self-winding calibre AL 30-660 S C FUS. Unveiled at Baselworld in 2019 and produced through 2024, it combines local and home time displays with a 24-hour alarm that sounds on a classic gong, plus an analog date, seconds, alarm status, and day/night indications. Patek Philippe developed the integrated movement over five years specifically for this reference; its alarm mechanism generated four patent applications. The calibre contains 574 parts and 52 jewels, with a power reserve of 42 to 52 hours. The alarm has a separate spring barrel wound through the crown at 4 o'clock, and its hammer can strike the gong for up to 40 seconds at 2.5 Hz, approximately 90 strikes. The gong attaches directly to the caseband to limit sound attenuation, helping make the 5520P-001 Patek Philippe's first chiming timepiece in a water-resistant case. Local-time correction is handled by two pushers with the manufacture's quarter-turn Interlock safety system, while the date and alarm remain coupled to local time. Now discontinued, the platinum 5520P preceded the rose-gold 5520RG-001 introduced in 2024. Every watch is authenticated and backed by The 1916 Company's 2-year warranty.
