The Patek Philippe Gondolo Gemma Ref. 4981G is a white-gold, diamond-set interpretation of the Gondolo line, Patek Philippe's family of shaped watches with rectangular or cushion cases and Art Deco influence. Introduced in 2006 and produced through 2010, reference 4981 was the quartz version of the Gondolo Gemma, paired in the collection with the manually wound reference 4991. The 4981G uses the six-jewel calibre E 15, a compact 57-part quartz movement with an approximately three-year battery life. Its elongated 18K white-gold case measures 37.2 × 22.4 mm and is set with 72 diamonds weighing approximately 0.95 carats. Nine additional diamonds, approximately 0.05 carats, decorate the crown. The white mother-of-pearl dial combines an engine-turned center with black baton numerals, while the shaped crystal follows the angular geometry of the case. Contemporary specifications paired the watch with white or brown alligator straps and a white-gold Patek Philippe buckle.
