Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Complications Ref. 5524G

Introduced at Baselworld in 2015, the Patek Philippe Ref. 5524G is the 42 mm white-gold Calatrava Pilot Travel Time, drawing on the manufacture's aviator and hour-angle watches from the 1930s without directly re-creating them. The original 5524G-001, produced from 2015 to 2025, pairs a dark navy-blue lacquered dial with luminous white-gold Arabic numerals and a vintage brown calfskin strap. Patek Philippe described the dial color as recalling the paint used on 1930s American fighter planes. Its self-winding CH 324 S C FUS calibre provides local and home time, central seconds, a hand-type date at 6 o'clock, and separate day/night apertures for both time zones. The date follows local time, while locking pushers on the case's left side move the local hour forward or backward in one-hour steps. In 2025, Patek Philippe replaced the blue-dial execution with the 5524G-010, retaining the 42 mm white-gold case while introducing an ivory lacquered dial, a khaki-green textile-pattern composite strap, and the newer 26-330 S C FUS movement. A circa-2016 example sold by Phillips also illustrates the reference's early presence in the modern Patek Philippe auction market.
