Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Complications Ref. 5070P

The Patek Philippe Ref. 5070P is a platinum, manually wound chronograph in the Complications collection, recognized for its 42 mm case, blue dial, tachymeter scale, small seconds, and 30-minute chronograph register. Introduced in 2008 for the Ref. 5070's tenth anniversary, the 5070P-001 was produced in 2008-2009. Standard Ref. 5070 production officially ceased in 2009; separate special-order and off-catalogue platinum examples, including the 5070P-013, were made later from remaining components. The broader Ref. 5070, launched in 1998, marked Patek Philippe's return to a chronograph-only wristwatch following the Ref. 1463's discontinuation in the 1960s. Its 42 mm case also made it the manufacture's first serially produced wristwatch larger than 40 mm. The regular 5070P-001 pairs a platinum case and leather strap with a blue sunburst dial that Patek Philippe called "bleu nuage," or cloud blue. Its tone changes substantially with light and viewing angle, while white-gold hands and applied Arabic numerals provide contrast. Inside is the manual-winding CH 27-70, derived from the Nouvelle Lemania 2310 and extensively reworked by Patek Philippe. It was the final Lemania-based chronograph calibre used in the regular Ref. 5070 line.
