The cathedral gongs wrap around the movement one and three-quarter turns, producing a sustained resonance impossible to achieve with a standard repeating mechanism. Patek Philippe released the reference in rose gold in 2005, following the original yellow gold launch in 2001; fewer than 40 rose gold examples are believed to have been produced across the entire run.
