Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Ref. 5738 brings the collection's golden-section proportions into a slim, dress-focused form. Introduced in 2008 for the Golden Ellipse's 40th anniversary, the jumbo-format reference began as the first large Golden Ellipse in platinum, pairing a blue-gold sunburst dial with the ultra-thin self-winding Caliber 240. The 34.5 x 39.5 mm case has since supported six separate executions rather than one continuous configuration. These include the platinum 5738P-001, the rose-gold 5738R-001, two Rare Handcrafts models, the chain-style-bracelet 5738/1R-001, and the white-gold 5738G-001 introduced in 2026 with an olive-green sunburst dial. The 2018 anniversary 5738/50P-001 was limited to 100 watches and delivered with white-gold cufflinks. Its black enamel and hand-engraved dial differs from the 5738/51G-001, whose champlevé construction combines black Grand Feu enamel with raised, hand-engraved gold motifs. Still in production, Ref. 5738 spans platinum, rose-gold, and white-gold cases, with strap and chain-bracelet configurations.
