Introduced at Baselworld in 2018, the Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Ref. 7234R was the manufacture's first automatic Travel Time watch developed specifically for women. Patek Philippe also positioned the Ref. 7234R-001 for men who preferred smaller proportions, using a 37.5 mm case in place of the 42 mm format of the Ref. 5524. Produced from 2018 through 2023, the Ref. 7234R-001 combines a rose-gold case with a brown sunburst dial that darkens subtly toward the edge. Applied luminous rose-gold numerals and hands support legibility, while a vintage-brown calfskin strap and rose-gold clevis-prong buckle reinforce its pilot-watch character. The automatic calibre 324 S C FUS displays local and home time, with separate day/night indications for each zone, a date tied to local time, and central sweep seconds. Case pushers move the local hour forward or backward in one-hour increments, allowing travelers to change time zones without disturbing the minutes. Announced at a retail price of CHF 38,000, the reference later appeared on Patek Philippe's 2023 discontinuation run-out list.
