Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3802

The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3802 is an approximately 33 mm automatic dress watch produced from 1983 through 2006. Introduced two years before the manually wound Ref. 3919, it was among Patek Philippe's early automatic Calatravas to combine a Clous de Paris, or hobnail, bezel with center seconds and a date display. The original yellow-gold 3802J gave way to the intermediate 3802/100J in late 1986, followed in 1990 by the 3802/200 series with a practical crown-operated quickset date. Early watches used Cal. 310 SC; later examples received Cal. 315/190 and related 315-series movements. Collectors further divide the 3802/200 family into three movement-based series spanning 1990 to 2006. Ref. 3802 appeared in yellow, white, and rose gold, on leather straps or several period bracelet designs. Dial treatments range from Roman-numeral white and ivory dials to scarce baton-index and sapphire-set configurations. Patek Philippe's period term "porcelaine" describes a white, porcelain-like dial tone, not a dial made from porcelain.
