Pre-Owned Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3590
Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3590 is a thin, time-only automatic dress watch produced from 1970 into the late 1970s, with auction records also cataloguing examples made around 1980. At approximately 35 mm across and generally 6.5 to 7 mm thick, it has substantial presence for a vintage Calatrava while retaining restrained proportions. Its three-part case pairs a Clous de Paris, or hobnail, bezel with a snap-on back and contrasting polished and brushed finishes.
The defining mechanical feature is the ultra-thin calibre 28-255, an automatic movement based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre 920. Documented movements have 36 jewels, a Gyromax balance, Geneva Seal certification and a 21K-gold rotor segment. The reference was made as the yellow-gold 3590J and white-gold 3590G, with period dials including silver, champagne, gold, blue and rare special black executions. A documented 1972 white-gold watch with a blue sunburst Sigma dial confirms that blue belongs within the reference's period history.
Patek Philippe describes the Calatrava as its quintessential round wristwatch, rooted in pure lines and Bauhaus-informed, function-first design. Ref. 3590 gives that idea an unusually broad bezel and no-seconds display, supported by one of the era's important ultra-thin automatic calibres. Every watch is authenticated. Warranty coverage for this vintage watch is subject to The 1916 Company's applicable warranty terms; do not state a two-year warranty unless this specific watch is expressly covered.
