The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5060SR is a limited-production rose-gold model from 2004-2005, believed by Phillips to comprise approximately 300 examples. It belongs to the transitional 5060S family introduced before the steel 5060A of 1997, when period catalogues still associated related references with the Nautilus collection. That blurred classification helps explain its unusual place between the Nautilus and the later, more clearly defined Aquanaut line. The 5060SR combines a rounded-octagonal 18K rose-gold case, nominally 35.6 mm, with an opaline light dial and applied rose-gold luminous Roman numerals. Its smooth dial, luminous feuille hands and alligator strap differ markedly from the grenade-pattern dials and composite straps of later Aquanauts. The self-winding calibre 330 SC provides hours, minutes, seconds and date, while a glazed display back reveals the movement. Auction records identify this configuration as Ref. 5060SR-010 and document a rose-gold pin buckle, screw-down crown and 120 m water resistance. Discontinued after its brief production run, the 5060SR remains one of the most compact and uncommon precious-metal interpretations of the early Aquanaut form.
