Marco Bicego: 25 Years of Italian Wearable Art

Roberta Naas3 Min ReadJan 5 2026

One would be hard-pressed to find jewelry as irresistibly personal and poetically expressive as Marco Bicego. For 25 years, this Italian house has elevated gold into art — shaping, sculpting, and texturizing it by hand in ways that capture not just the light, but also the emotions of those who wear it. Each creation feels like a love letter to individuality, rooted in centuries-old tradition yet daringly modern in style.

The story begins in Vicenza, Italy’s gold jewelry capital, where Marco Bicego grew up immersed in his father’s workshop. He spent his childhood watching raw gold come alive in the hands of skilled artisans, learning that jewelry is not simply ornamental, but a stunning form of expression.

It was there that his passion took hold and for the past 25 years since starting his own eponymous brand in Vicenza, he has unveiled collections inspired by nature, by magical cities around the world and by color — always reshaping the hard metal that is gold into forms that make people stop and take notice. Always dedicated to offering women a way to celebrate their own stories.

From the beginning his collections, such as Marrakech with twisted interwoven gold braids, or the Jaipur color collection that utilizes nature’s most beautiful gemstones in pieces inspired by India’s Pink City, have captivated women around the world with their fresh interpretations and a superb blending of old-world craftsmanship techniques and innovative vision.

“Every piece I create is a meaningful expression of emotions, memories and stories,” says Bicego.

His creations and emotions are brought to life every day in the Marco Bicego workshops, where artisans and goldsmiths work side by side, using techniques that were passed on from generation after generation — all honed to Bicego’s aesthetic. Each piece is crafted entirely by hand, using signature Bicego engraving and coiling methods to give the gold its distinctive brushed texture and shimmering surface. Such fine gold work and finishing can take a single artisan days to complete depending on the complexity of the hand work.

This year, as the brand celebrates its 25th anniversary, Marco Bicego unveils its most anticipated launch yet: the Lunaria Twist. Inspired by the iconic Lunaria collection, this new interpretation takes the coveted leaf-like forms of the Lunaria and introduces a fluid, softly twisted silhouette — often with open air between the gold of cuffs or rings. Each piece of gold boasts Marco Bicego’s signature engraving, and each gold leaf is gently twisted by hand — offering a slightly different, modern twist on a beloved look. The result is jewelry that seems to change with light and radiate elegance.

With earrings starting under $2,000 and more elaborate designs reaching up to $9,000, Lunaria Twist represents both accessible luxury and high artistry. As Bicego notes, “The new collection is not just a celebration of what we have achieved, but a vision of what is to come — a commitment to innovation, new horizons and continuing to evolve our designs while staying true to the timeless elegance that defines Marco Bicego.”

Whether worn as a single statement piece, layered or stacked, Marco Bicego jewelry always feels like a personal revelation — designed to express one’s inner self.
