The 1916 Company is proud to present a collection of F.P. Journe’s most important, and most collectible, watches spanning his entire career, from the introduction of his first timepieces in 1999, up to the present day. Journe represents a unique and ongoing opportunity for both collectors and enthusiasts. He is of course, one of the founding fathers of independent watchmaking as we have come to know it in the 21st century, and Journe combines a restless spirit of technical innovation with a unique design language, and variety in production, which is unmatched in independent horology.
The 1916 Company has assembled a representative group of both technical and artistic scope, which showcases the incredible variety of Journe’s watchmaking across over two decades. For Journe, watchmaking is never just an exercise in technical horology or in aesthetics – the hallmark of his work is the seamless integration of the two, in a way that has both deep links to the history of horology, and which also has in its diversity created unprecedented new paths of exploration.
