The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars XXL Chronograph is a 48mm phantom. While its presence is unmistakable in person, the rarity of this watch means that even diligent internet searches yield precious little background on the Jules Audemars XXL Chronograph. 

Here’s the deal; this mammoth machine was built in a series of 50 watches to mark the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet in Y2K and the release of the Arnold Schwarzenegger film, “The Sixth Day.” Arnold wore his signature watch in the film, and the other 49 examples were made available exclusively to the charity donors at Schwarzenegger’s annual “Arnold’s All-Stars” benefit dinner.

In exchange for a (very) large donation, contributors received dinner, good karma, and this watch.

And what a watch it is. The 48mm case is composed principally of brushed titanium, but the polished bezel is 950pt platinum. A sprawling dial with full Arabic numerals is designed to recall early 20th century pilot’s models, and the enormous hands are sculpted to evoke the propellers of vintage aircraft.

A utility-style kevlar strap and contrasting “panda” chronograph sub-dials complete the vintage aviator vibe.

The Audemars Piguet “Sixth Day” also includes one of the most unusual accessories ever shipped with a luxury watch: an alternate dial in “Audemars Olive” green. At client request, Audemars Piguet service centers can swap the white dial depicted in the video for the green proxy.
