As The 1916 Company prepares to open its new showroom in Ardmore this spring, we’re excited to unveil a space that will continue our legacy of client service, passionate expertise, and a commitment to the finest timepieces and jewelry. Founded by Albert Govberg in 1916, Govberg Jewelers has proudly served the Philadelphia community for over 100 years, celebrating milestones with generations of clients, friends, and families. Throughout this time, we’ve also celebrated the transformation of our business, merging with WatchBox, Radcliffe, and Hyde Park Jewelers in 2023 to form The 1916 Company.
The final day of business at Govberg Jewelers in Suburban Square will be Saturday, April 5, as we prepare for the grand opening of The 1916 Company Showroom at 102 E. Montgomery Avenue, just 300 feet away, later this spring. While our “Ardmore intermission” will be brief, we remain dedicated to serving our clients during this transition, offering personalized appointments at our Center City Philadelphia location and access to our collections, services, and expertise online.
