Hublot Big Bang King Power Tourbillon GMT: VIDEO BLOG
Hublot and High Horology. Together at last. Seriously- this Hublot Big Bang King Power Tourbillon GMT has the haut-de-gamme chops to rival the best from rival big-watch luxury powerhouse Audemars Piguet. As one of only 28 built, exclusivity comes standard with this Hublot Tourbillon.
In 2009, Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver received an ultimatum from his complication manufacturer, BnB Concept; “we’re about to tank, buy us or else.” Biver, always one to go big rather than go home, accepted the challenge and bought BnB’s technology, equipment, and about one-third of its workforce.
Now christened the “Confrerie Horlogere” and producing high complications under Hublot‘s “MP” label, BnB’s wizards continue to spin mechanical masterpieces like this King Power Tourbillon GMT.
The King Power Tourbillon GMT is the first-ever Hublot tourbillon to combine a dual-time feature with the headline rotating escapement. Hublot’s caliber HUB6121 features a 90-hour power reserve, retrograde date, second time zone, and the titular tourbillon in a position of prominence. All finishing is by hand and exquisite to examine under magnification.
Hublot pairs its emerging classic King Power 48mm case with a full skeleton dial that reveals the spectacle of the tourbillon movement. Still a Hublot Big Bang King Power, this tourbillon is a fun-loving timepiece with the raffish style, water resistance, and versatile rubber strap to go any place a normal Hublot would – including your daily routine.
